“Then, Éowyn of Rohan, I say to you that you are beautiful. In the valleys of our hills there are flowers fair and bright, and maidens fairer still; but neither flower nor lady have I seen till now in Gondor so lovely, and so sorrowful. It may be that only a few days are left ere darkness falls upon our world, and when it comes I hope to face it steadily; but it would ease my heart, if while the Sun yet shines, I could see you still. For you and I have both passed under the wings of the Shadow, and the same hand drew us back.”

I have always sneakily liked these two together, very, very very much. They had a dynamic.
In the original legend they were lovers… until she made a cave collapse on his head after he’d taught her all he knew of magic.

I’m kind of getting tired of seeing posts about “This woman is flawless”, “she is perfect in every way”, “I wish I could be her”.
Ladies, are we not setting ourselves up for failure by thinking this way? Every woman has flaws. Just because a woman spends an hour longer in front of the mirror than we can afford it doesn’t make her perfect. Underneath her clothes hidden from view, she might have stretch marks that you never see. As she ages, her skin may show signs of it that we never note because it’s always hidden by make up or air brushed by photoshop. If we ever want to learn to truly feel beautiful and be comfortable in our own skin, we have to stop thinking about how flawless other women are and start realizing that we are all flawed, and that we are still beautiful despite it.
Want to know the real secret to beauty? Confidence!
What makes a woman beautiful is not the clothes she’s wearing, or the makeup she puts on her face; it’s the confident smile and the go get em attitude that make them so gorgeous. Marilyn Monroe was not the skinniest woman in the world, but she was kindhearted and always wore her confident trademark smile. She didn’t have to be an anorexic super model to be so sexy; she just needed to be comfortable in who she was. Instead of hurting ourselves on tumblr and facebook by drooling over women we wish we were, it’s time to take some pride in ourselves! Who cares if you have flaws? They make you uniquely you, and you are beautiful just as you are! Beauty is not a physical trait; true beauty comes from the heart.
